1947.

COMPANY FOUNDED AS A PHARMACEUTICAL LABORATORY

In 1947 Doctor Juan Abeniacar, PhD in Pharmacy, founded the company Farlabo. It was born as a pharmaceutical laboratory in the basement of Pharmacy International, in Madrid. For this reason, our company owes its name to its pharmaceutical origins.

1956.

START OF OUR DISTRIBUTION ACTIVITY WITH PRESTIGIOUS BRANDS

This family company began its activity in 1956 as a distributor of perfumes in Spain with Christian Dior. This relationship would end in 1998 but it was the beginning of the extraordinary coexistence between the worlds of cosmetics and pharmacy, achieving great bonds of affection and professionalism between the two sectors.

2007.

4711 EAU DE COLOGNE DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT WITH MAURER & WIRTZ

Farlabo expands its distribution and signs an agreement to distribute Maurer & Wirtz’s 4711 cologne brand, which has the world’s oldest classic fragrance (4711 Original – Eau de Cologne), known for its revitalizing and body-positive properties. To this day, the brand remains a benchmark among eaux de cologne.

2011.

NEW PHASE IN THE COMPANY WITH DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENTS FOR COSMETIC BRANDS SUCH AS TROLL COSMETICS AND ORLANE

A new stage begins at Farlabo with distribution agreements for prestigious cosmetic brands such as Orlane, Juvena and Marlies Möller. Orlane, of Parisian origin, has more than 70 years of experience in the development and manufacture of extraordinary anti-aging products. Juvena and Marlies Möller belong to the Swiss-based Troll cosmetics group, a company that has been developing cutting-edge cosmetics and premium hair treatments since 1954.

2012.

DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT WITH THE FRENCH GROUP INTERPARFUMS

It is in this year that the company consolidates its position in the distribution of high perfumery thanks to a distribution agreement with Interparfums. Farlabo introduces the luxury fragrances of this important house: Montblanc, Jimmy Choo, Balmain, Lanvin, Repetto, Van Cleef & Arpels and Boucheron. Later, brands such as Karl Lagerfeld, Coach, Kate Spade or Moncler are introduced.

2015.

ROCHAS SPAIN JOINT VENTURE

Rochas, a leading brand in the perfumery sector in Spain for more than forty years, is acquired by the Interparfums Group. Farlabo creates a joint venture with Interparfums to distribute the brand in the Spanish market.

2016.

THE PHARMACY DIVISION IS RELAUNCHED AND FARLABO STARTS DISTRIBUTING THE PRESTIGIOUS BRANDS OF INTERPARFUMS USA.

Iván Abeniacar, founder’s grandson, returns Farlabo to its pharmaceutical origins. In 2016, he joins the company to start distributing Delarom and Declaré brands in this channel. Currently, this division also includes brands such as Strivectin and Teaology.

Farlabo begins a new stage with Interparfums USA with the introduction of some of its brands in Spain: Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, strengthening its position as the main distributor of prestigious perfumery in Spain. Later, brands such as Guess, Oscar de la Renta and Dunhill joined this group. 

2018.

PARTNERSHIP WITH L’OREAL GROUP

The world’s largest cosmetics company trusts Farlabo to market the Helena Rubinstein brand in Spain and Portugal. HR has been inspiring women for more than 115 years by offering advanced skin care solutions. 

Earlier this year, Pablo Abeniacar, joined Farlabo to reinforce the company’s leadership.
